We are pleased to announce that Chris joined Crown Consulting Group in January. A little bit about Chris:

I studied linguistics and psychology at university in Lancaster and went off to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL) in Finland and Greece for almost 4 years.

I returned to the UK to join a course to learn COBOL. I spent several years as a COBOL programmer before joining GCHQ.

I was an analyst for a few years before returning to programming in UNIX and teaching myself how to use Windows. I joined NCR in Birmingham as a trainer and eventually a consultant, moving to Canada with my family in 1996.

I continued as a consultant with various organisations including Capgemini, Siemens and Atos. During this time, we returned to Britain as dual British and Canadian citizens.

In 2014 I changed my role to business analyst and used my knowledge and skills from my years in IT and consulting to help push projects to successful completion. I love consulting and now have a new passion I’d like to teach people about, and that is robotic process automation (RPA).

As far as hobbies go, I swim two or three times a week. I still play the odd game of squash, and I enjoy cycling in the summer. I ski most winters, often with my twin girls. I walk at least 10,000 steps a day and am trying to increase that. I intend taking up jogging too as it has good health benefits. I love travelling and am going to visit as may places as I can now I have the time to do that.

I’m a bit of a linguist too speaking conversational French, German, Finnish and Greek. I also have a few words of Russian.
